Connect BarGuard to Clover POS
Sync your Clover sales data automatically. BarGuard matches every sale to your inventory and tracks variance, pour cost, and shrinkage by shift — including modifier and catalog data.
What the Clover integration does
Once connected, BarGuard pulls your sales automatically and does the math you were doing manually.
Automatic sales sync
Clover sales pull into BarGuard on every sync cycle — including modifiers and catalog item data.
Variance by shift
Compare what Clover says you sold to what your inventory counts show was actually used. The gap is your loss.
Real-time pour cost
BarGuard calculates your actual vs. theoretical pour cost after every count, broken down by product category.
Shrinkage detection
Spot which items are depleting faster than sales explain — and narrow it down to a shift, station, or bartender.
How to connect — step by step
Go to Settings → POS Integrations in BarGuard
Log in to your BarGuard dashboard and navigate to the Integration section. Select Clover from the list of available POS systems.
Click Connect and authorize via OAuth
Click the Connect button next to Clover. You'll be redirected to Clover's authorization page. Log in with your Clover account and grant BarGuard access to your sales and catalog data.
Select your merchant location
If your Clover account has multiple merchant locations, select the one you want to connect. You can connect additional locations later from the same settings page.
Trigger your first sync
Once connected, BarGuard will begin importing your Clover sales history. Select a date range for the initial sync — we recommend starting with the last 30 days to build your baseline variance data.
Upload or scan your invoices to complete setup
With Clover connected, your sales data is flowing. Upload or scan your purchase invoices into BarGuard so your inventory data is accurate. Once both are in place, BarGuard can calculate variance, pour cost, and shrinkage automatically.
Common questions
What Clover data does BarGuard sync?
BarGuard syncs item names, quantities sold, check totals, timestamps, modifiers, and catalog data from Clover. Modifier data allows BarGuard to correctly attribute ingredient depletion for substitutions and add-ons.
Does BarGuard work with all Clover hardware?
Yes. BarGuard connects to Clover at the account level via OAuth — it works regardless of which Clover hardware (Mini, Station, Flex, or Go) you use.
How often does Clover data sync?
BarGuard syncs Clover data automatically on a scheduled cycle. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time from the POS Integrations page to pull the latest sales data instantly.
Is my Clover data secure?
Yes. BarGuard connects to Clover using OAuth — we never store your Clover password. Access can be revoked at any time from your Clover account. Your sales data is stored in an isolated, row-level-secured database that no other bar can access.
